Female Smurfs exist but are far less common than males. It's estimated to be around a 5:1 ratio. This has led to a popular myth that female Smurfs don't actually exist, giving birth to many theories on how they reproduce.
Smurfs actually reproduce via eggs, which take 10 or so years to hatch. Hatchlings are called hatchlings or Baby Smurfs. Smurf children/adolescents are called Smurflings. Smurfs reach maturity around 200 years after they hatch, though 300 is still considered pretty young.
By the time a Smurf reaches 1,000 years old, they are considered to be something of 'retirement' age. They support the village by taking care of Smurflings and teaching what they have learned, but no longer are expected to do much physically.
Smurflings go by various nicknames until they, or sometimes the larger group, gives them a true name based on some predominant trait of theirs. Most Smurflings don't think much about their names until about a third of the way through childhood, with many not really caring long into their 'teens', but some obsess over it.
Females have short, curly head hair. Males don't have head hair but typically start developing beards and mustaches as they get older, though many shave until they're truly old. Their hair gets longer and straighter over time.
Most Smurfs wear white, but not all. Smurfs feel weird showing their bare heads in public, meaning just about all of them wear hats, and might grow uncomfortable around people that don't (even from other species!). Red hats are worn traditionally only by their leaders, which are called Redcaps — most villages are led either by one Redcap or by a mated pair.
Smurf diets consist mostly of berries, especially one specific type dubbed 'Smurfberries'. Leaves, nuts, grasses, and roots are common as well. Smurfs are mildly photosynthetic, which is why so many go without shirts, to absorb sunlight. Mushrooms are occasionally eaten, but are more commonly grown for other uses, such as housing.
Smurfs have purple blood.
Eye colors:
• Blue (most common)
• Purple
• Green
• Turquoise/teal (uncommon)
• Orange (rare)
Hair colors:
• Blue
• Green
• Purple
• Orange (uncommon)
• Black (rare)
• White (starts turning white in old age)
Pets:
• Insects of various sorts, especially caterpillars — the most common housepets
• Spiders, scorpions, and other not-insects — less common
• Birds of various sorts — used for transport and battle
• Rabbits — used primarily for their 'wool', though ways to ride them have recently been discovered
• Squirrels — pretty much only Tracker and Feral
• Cats — pretty much only Barista, to everysmurf else's horror
• Dogs — there is a dog living in Blossom, and it's a very weird thing. His name is Puppy.
• Bats — pretty much only Spelunker
• Rocks — surprisingly common, if only to humor Clumsy

• 180 — 18
• 200 — 20

He should make a city nearby! In-canon both the Grove and Village get destroyed, and a new one gets built...
Though we all know canon should be put in a box in our attic, covered in dust and spiderwebs, sometimes that old box can be taken out, to find a thing or two that might be useful! He could make a second (third) living area, since the Smurf population is growing. Maybe another town, or something, gets destroyed, and the occupants have to move to Smurf Village, so he makes a city for them!
